Quick answer
Updated 30 Oct 2026
Use the full international format: a plus sign, the country code and the mobile number with no leading 0, such as +971501234567. Meta’s Cloud API accepts spaces and dashes, but if the plus sign is missing it adds your business number’s country code, which can send messages to the wrong person or nowhere. Meta recommends always including the plus sign and country code.
How it cleans
Step 01
Finds every number
Paste from Excel, Google Sheets, a CRM export or a chat. Names, commas and line breaks are ignored, dates are skipped, and Arabic-Indic digits are converted.
Step 02
Fixes the format
Leading zeros, 00 prefixes and missing country codes are corrected, so 050 123 4567 becomes +971501234567. Numbers without a code get the country you choose.
Step 03
Removes duplicates
The same customer written two ways counts once. Landlines and numbers that can’t be right are listed separately with the reason, so nothing disappears silently.
GCC number formats
UAE and Saudi Arabia
Nine digits starting with 5 after +971 or +966. Locally they are written with a 0 in front, 05X XXX XXXX, and that 0 has to go.
Qatar and Kuwait
Eight digits and no leading 0. Qatar mobiles start with 3, 5, 6 or 7. Kuwait mobiles start with 41, 5, 6 or 9.
Oman and Bahrain
Eight digits and no leading 0. Oman mobiles start with 7 or 9. Bahrain mobiles start with 3, and some numbers starting with 6 are mobiles too.
Landlines
Saudi landlines start with 1, Qatar’s with 4, Oman’s and Kuwait’s with 2, Bahrain’s with 1, and UAE landlines have eight digits. They are rarely on WhatsApp, so the cleaner lists them separately.
Questions
Should I keep the plus sign?
Yes. Meta recommends sending to numbers with both the plus sign and the country code. If the plus sign is missing, the Cloud API adds your business number’s country code, which can send the message to the wrong person or nowhere. Switch the output to digits only for tools that ask for it.
Why does the 0 at the start go?
In the UAE and Saudi Arabia, 0 is dialled only inside the country. In international format it is dropped, so 050 123 4567 becomes +971 50 123 4567.
Does a clean list mean I can message everyone on it?
No. Formatting decides whether a message can be delivered, not whether you may send it. WhatsApp’s policy lets you message only people who opted in to hear from your business.
Why are landlines left out?
Customer landlines are rarely on WhatsApp, and messages to numbers without WhatsApp aren’t delivered. If you know a landline uses WhatsApp Business, add it back by hand.
Can it clean numbers from outside the GCC?
It keeps any number written with a plus sign or 00 and 8 to 15 digits, and marks it as not checked. Only UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain numbers are checked digit by digit.
Is my list uploaded anywhere?
No. The cleaning happens in your browser and nothing is sent to FlowFlex or anyone else. Close the tab and the list is gone.
